Cryotherapy is a wellness treatment using nitrogen at very low temperatures to simulate the effects of cold water. These fitouts for LondonCryo, a start-up offering cryotherapy treatments, are part of a five-year rollout programme, our design guide enabling faster delivery of each unit.
The technical requirement for nitrogen storage is balanced with a brief for un-clinical, spa-like spaces with privacy and warmth. The plan is kept simple, a central corridor separating wet and dry areas, with natural light filtering in from front and back and layers of linen curtains to screen and soften. The cryo room is always centre stage – marked with coloured lights, visible from the street, or positioned in line with the central corridor – to make the treatment appear more accessible and user friendly.
